Handmade Gift Exchange: I Received

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Mine was really busy. Since it has been so hot, I decided to clean out some closets and get things ready for a garage sale. I was amazed at some of the things we kept and then there where items I came across that may show up in a blog post after I re-purpose them.

Any way, the reason for today's post is to show off what I received in the Summer 2012 Handmade Gift Exchange. I entered the gift exchange that started at the beginning of June. I was given a name of someone that I was to make a gift for and someone else received my name. There was a bit of a challenge on what to make since we were strangers. A wonderful lady named Heather drew my name and crocheted an amazing basket with coasters.

I am so thankful to Heather for my gift. I have no idea how to crochet even though my dear grandmother tried to teach me but I just could not get it. However, the ability to crochet skipped a generation and my oldest daughter has basic knowledge of how to crochet. Heather's gift is the only item in my house that is crocheted! I just can't tell you how excited I was when I got it.

I love the colors! The blue of the flowers is just so pretty! My pictures don't do it justice.

You can check out Heather's blog at Me Making Do and see her other great creations.

Want to see what I made for Lindsey, visit Handmade Gift Exchange: What I Made. And to see what others in the exchange made visit Craftaholics Anonymous linky party. The next Handmade Gift Exchange will be in November so you can join in on the fun.

Have a great week!
