Hi friends, it's been a long time. I am so sorry I have not been able to post but after I tell you about what has happened I think you will understand. And on top of everything our internet has out for about two weeks (how does anyone live without internet?).
As I have said before, we were expecting our first grand-child. A month ago, our daughter was ready to go to the hospital. The labor was very long and she did not give birth until early the following morning. My grand-son was born and he is so handsome.
The sleepless nights began...feeding at 2 am, 4 am and 6am. It has been many years since I have done this, but I would do anything for this little man. The first night at home went smoothly, he ate and slept and was perfect in every way. The next night was a different story. He wasn't eating as much and he was very restless in his sleep. We also noticed that his breathing was labored.
After calling the doctor and rushing to the doctors office, the doctor said he was a very sick baby and to get him to the hospital. The hospital began running tests and then told us they believed it was a heart problem. The hospital here could not take care of him so they called in the Neo-flight team to transport him by helicopter to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City. This is when time stopped.
Well, our little man had a blockage in his aorta. The doctors and nurses at Children's where able to stabilize him and kept him comfortable for several days before he had surgery. The surgery was a success and the blockage was removed. After two weeks in the hospital he is home and doing great.
I am so thankful for the nurses, doctors and staff of both our local hospital and the Children's Hospital. Everyone has been so kind and understanding.
Now that we are back home and our internet is working again, maybe everything will be back to normal. Well as normal as things can be with a baby around.
Your grandson is adorable!! I'm so glad everything got taken care of. So scary!!
ReplyDeleteI'm following you back. : )
