Leaf Rake Up

It's fall ya'll ! Well ok, not until September 22. It is my favorite time of the year for several reasons. First, it is football season. I really enjoy sitting at home on a Saturday and watching college football, specifically Oklahoma State. I also love the cooler weather. I enjoy a nice cool morning when I have to put on a sweater or jacket to go to work. But what I love most about fall is the colors! I love the colors of the changing leaves. The deep dark oranges, reds, and golds are just so beautiful.

However, with fall comes the daunting task of raking leaves. Which leads to allergies with the running eyes and sneezing. Who wants that? So I have decided to rake up some lovely leaf projects to keep myself busy and maybe my husband will rake the leaves.

I have raked up five projects with a leaf theme that I think you will enjoy. Remember if you are Pinning please go to the link for each project and Pin from the original source.

I love the saying on this pillow! The felt leaves are just adorable.

This project from I Heart Nap Time is simple and cute. I can't wait to make one.

Mixing the paints for this faux stained glass window looks like so much fun.

These fake leaves painted gold look great in these frames. But think of the possibilities. They could dress up a table-scape or a centerpiece.

Yummy! Decorate sugar cookies and eat!

I hope these links have inspired you as much as they did me. I hope to be sharing some of my big leaf ideas soon so come back and see me. You can also follow me on Pinterest

Happy Fall,

County Fair

It's fall and that means it's time to go to the fair! I really like going to our County Fair. Our family went to the County Fair on Saturday and had a great time. It was a overcast and threatening rain but it turned out cool and nice. There is something for everyone at the fair.

I love to look at all the exhibits. Adults and kids have put a lot of hard work into their entries in the fair. There was lots of canned food, breads, cookies, and cakes. I enjoyed looking at the photography, drawings, paintings, and craft projects. My favorite are the quilts.

There where so many quilts in all sizes, colors and patterns.

I loved the quilt in the middle. It was black and white with colorful scraps making the flowers.

What's a Fair without fried food? Fried ribbon potatoes covered with nacho cheese and ranch dressing is my  husband favorite. Fried pickles, fried candy bars, and corn dogs are some of our other favorites. And of course we had to have cotton candy.

Then there are the rides. But after everything we ate no one really felt up to riding.

Are you planing a trip to a State or County Fair? What is your favorite fair food?

Grandparents Day

Since I have my first grandchild, Grandparent's Day means the world to me. I am looking forward to spending the day with him. When he gets older I will be looking forward to cards and crafts he has made for my husband and me.

Grandparents Day is September 9, are you ready? If not, here are a few "pin"spirations I have found.

What grandparent doesn't like pictures and this board from I {heart} Nap Time is the perfect way to display those photos.

At Under the Table and Dreaming, Stephanie made these adorable dough hand prints. These make great memories and years later your grand child can compare their hand sizes.

Life is sweet

A card is always special and Life is Sweet made this card even more special with a child's hand print.

Have you already made a grandparent gift? Will you be making one this weekend?
